About Us
Founded in 2025, Pulling My Sister Up, Inc. was created with a heartfelt mission to provide a safe place where women and children can heal, rebuild, and rise again. We exist for the women who feel unseen, overwhelmed, or broken, offering them the compassion, support, and community they need to restore their strength and reclaim their lives. Rooted in sisterhood and the belief that every woman carries a purpose far greater than her pain, we are here to remind her that her life matters, her story is not over, and she never has to rise alone.

Through our core programs — Sister Strength Housing and Healing, Renew Her Mind Counseling and Therapy, Recovery and Restoration Substance Support, and the Rising Mothers Education and Empowerment Program — we provide women with the tools, resources, and emotional care needed to move forward with confidence and hope. From safe shelter and trauma informed counseling to educational support, life skills training, mentorship, and empowerment groups, each experience is designed to uplift, guide, and restore dignity.

Our Purpose
Our purpose is to restore hope and dignity to women facing homelessness, trauma, or addiction by connecting them to essential resources, education, and emotional support. Through guidance, therapy, and empowerment programs, we help women and their children break cycles of pain and step confidently into a future of strength, purpose, and renewal.
Meet the Founder
Ebony Johnson - Founder/Executive Director
Pulling My Sister Up, Inc. was founded by Ebony Johnson, a woman of strength, compassion, and deep conviction who felt called to create a place where women and children could finally breathe again. Through her own experiences with hardship, healing, and rebuilding, Ebony saw how many women are carrying silent battles, hidden pain, and heavy burdens with nowhere safe to land.

She recognized the need for a loving and supportive space where women could rest their hearts, rediscover their worth, and begin rebuilding their lives with guidance and community. A space where hope is restored, dignity is renewed, and every woman is reminded that she matters and her future still holds promise.

From this vision, Pulling My Sister Up was created. It is a community rooted in healing, support, and empowerment, where women are uplifted as they work to overcome trauma, addiction, homelessness, and the emotional wounds that come from feeling forgotten or unseen. Ebony’s heart is for every woman who feels broken or alone, and her message echoes with tenderness and truth: you are not your past and you are not beyond restoration.
